Couples Therapy
"We are born in relationship, we are wounded in relationship, and we can be healed in relationship.” Harville Hendrix
All couples experience difficulties at times. Couples therapy provides a nurturing space in which relationship challenges are turned into opportunities for intimate conversations. In collaborating with both of you, I aim to create an empathic, non-judgmental, and unbiased approach where you and your partner can feel increasingly safe. This setting allows for the exploration of painful feelings, the gain of greater understanding, forgiveness, and compassion for yourself and each other. To long for safety in connection is fundamentally human and an experience everyone holds dear.
There are many reasons for couples to ask for help. Some of these reasons include communication difficulties, parenting styles approaches, intimacy, cross-cultural differences, trust, infidelity, affairs and betrayals, phases of life, and contemplation of separation or divorce.
Family Therapy
“Life will bring your pain all by itself. Your responsibility is to create joy.” Milton Erickson
I work with families to help them communicate constructively and uncover underlying issues preventing them from resolving conflicts and relating better. Working through family members’ hidden assumptions and issues will help your family members make progress towards change. By learning how to effectively listen to each other’s “needs and wants”, family members can increase their ability to solve problems together and express thoughts and emotions in healthy and productive ways.
